About the Role

As Team Leader – Matt Assembly, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day operations within our Matt Assembly area, leading a team to safely deliver high-quality products while achieving production, quality and delivery targets.

This is a genuine hands-on leadership role where you'll work alongside your team, coaching and developing operators, coordinating workflow and solving day-to-day production challenges.

Working closely with the Production Supervisor, you'll have the opportunity to broaden your leadership experience by taking greater responsibility for people, processes and performance while remaining actively involved in manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operations of the Matt Assembly area
• Work alongside your team to manufacture high-quality mattresses
• Coordinate workflow to achieve daily production schedules and customer requirements
• Coach, mentor and develop team members to build capability and engagement
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture through safe work practices and excellent housekeeping
• Ensure products meet quality standards and customer expectations
• Monitor production performance, minimise waste and improve operational efficiency
• Identify maintenance requirements and work collaboratively with maintenance teams
• Coordinate effectively with upstream and downstream production departments
• Complete production reporting and administrative requirements
• Provide leadership support and Supervisor relief when required

About you

You're a practical, approachable leader who enjoys developing people, solving production challenges and leading by example.

You'll also bring:

• Experience as a Team Leader or Senior Operator within an assembly or manufacturing environment
• Experience leading teams involved in the manufacture of finished products such as bedding, furniture, cabinetry, windows and doors, automotive components, trailers, caravans or similar industries
• A hands-on leadership style with the willingness to work alongside your team
• Strong communication, coaching and people leadership skills
• The ability to coordinate workflow, manage competing priorities and deliver production schedules
• A commitment to workplace safety, quality and continuous improvement
• Mechanical aptitude and confidence working in a production environment
