- Ability to influence and motivate the team in the distribution and processing of products and to ensure that all processes are completed to the requirements specified in relevant Safe Work procedures.
- Facilitating efficient interaction between work centres, departments/areas to ensure best flow of product, on time deliveries and priority completion.
- Manage production team to ensure manufactured products meet or exceed quality requirements, product integrity and production order documentation
- Determine manufacturing priorities based on weekly production schedules and make daily assignments as necessary to meet targets
- Recruit, train, motivate and develop staff to create a high performance team
- Planning, organising and coordinating staff to achieve the right number of staff operating the line at the right time
- Working with Operations Manager to lead and motivate a team of workers through effective, fair and consistent application of HR fundamentals, e.g. sick leave management, time and attendance
- Actively participate in training sessions and OHS improvement meetings
- Weekly reporting on key business metrics including productivity, reworks and overtime
- Make recommendations leading to continuous improvement. Not only in the Mattress department but also as part of the broader operations team
- Previous experience in a Manufacturing environment is essential
- Strong Leadership—the ability to lead with integrity, enthusiasm, energy, consistency, and an action orientation. Be the champion of time management.
- Experience with performance management, planning and organising
- Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints.
- Computer skills, including MS Office. Experience with SAP will be highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail and a sound understanding of OH&S
