About the Role
We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Class 2 Driver to join our logistics team and contribute to the smooth operation of our distribution network. As well as:
- Safely operate and maneuver company vehicles, including trucks to transport mattresses and bedding products to customers and retail stores
- Follow predetermined routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries and pickups
- Load and unload products using appropriate equipment and techniques, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety regulations
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues or concerns
- Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to ensure the safety of yourself, other road users, and the company's assets
- Assist with warehouse duties and other tasks as needed to support the logistics team
Skills and experience
The successful applicant will have proven experience as a professional driver, preferably in a commercial or logistics environment. As well as:
- Valid Class 2 driver's licence with a clean driving record
- Excellent driving skills and knowledge of safe driving practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically fit and able to lift and move heavy objects
- A forklift licence is advantageous but not essential
